The Culture, Character and Cuisine… of North Beach and Beyond

Walking tours in San Francisco have never been better! We are open for business and ready to take you on an unforgettable San Francisco walking tour! Book your North Beach Tour today! I’m excited to invite you to join me on a fun, fascinating, and interactive adventure through my beloved North Beach. Known not only as the center of San Francisco’s historic and culturally rich Italian Community, but also as a mecca for poets, painters, musicians, master crafters, dreamers and free spirits. It’s my great pleasure to introduce you to local friends and neighbors who are also the proprietors of shops, restaurants, galleries, and working art studios, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy complimentary tastes and samples, meet the artists, share stories, perhaps acquire a memento from one of our talented artisans or even make some art of your own.

My hope is that when you return home you will take with you a genuine understanding and appreciation of North Beach; a beautiful memory to treasure and share with family and friends and finally, you will look forward to returning to San Francisco with a sense of homecoming.

Blandina Farley’s Fabulous Tours travels throughout beautiful San Francisco and custom tours can be expanded to include Chinatown and/or Fisherman’s Wharf at the guest’s request.

Food Tours in San Francisco

In San Francisco we call our beloved Italian neighborhood North Beach (our very own ‘Little Italy’) with the best Italian food and wine outside of Italia. In North Beach all your senses will come alive with the aroma of authentic Italian delights such as cookies, cakes and cannoli baked every morning in a pastry shop serving the neighborhood for over 100 years, or savory sweet and spicy cured Salami from a Deli operating since1896 (even the pope commented ‘delizioso’), or a hearty sandwich made on focaccia bread baked in a century old brick oven…. not to mention all the varieties of pizza and delectable chocolate and fudge (voted Best in the West) … And, of course, there are our historic coffee houses where artists, poets and anyone who loves espresso and a great conversation gather and socialize.

Imagine living in a neighborhood where you wake up to the pungent scent of roasting coffee or the irresistible smell of freshly baked bread, Well, I live right in the heart of North Beach, and every day (and night) I am surrounded by these mouthwatering smells and sights that I would love to share with you on my walking tour Blandina Farley’s Fabulous Tours. Not only will we enjoy some of my favorite local tastes but I will let you in on the most colorful and interesting and historic places to shop, eat or enjoy a glass of wine. Finally, I am proud to introduce you to the warm and wonderful folks that make my neighborhood such an unforgettable and delicious experience!

Salute e Viva Italia!

“ Blandina Farley is a tour guide in San Francisco, focusing her food and history tours to the North Beach area where she’s lived most of her life. “I know the history because I have history here,” she says. She’s travelled abroad too, and while studying art history in Florence, Italy, she took a tour and came to realize it’s the best way to see a city. So, when she returned to her home, she decided to become a tour guide. “I love people and I want them to feel a part of the neighborhood,” she says. ”
